So I have not been posting much in the way of garden stuff.  This picture is why.  That fence is the gateway to my garden.  All of my hard work just got washed away.  I am afraid to eat the fresh vegetables because flood waters contain nasty things.  I may have to cook and preserve anything I have left in there in order of it to be valuable.  Maybe I will fire roast the peppers and can them.  The leeks and turnips may still be ok for fall if cooked well.  I will pickle the beets because their growth has been stunted.  The 3 pumpkins that survived will be decorative or tasty pies.  My squash was wrecked and most are downstream.  My tomatoes will be stewed and canned unless they ripen on vines that were above the water level.  leafy greens are ruined.  Beans are ruined and I will pickle the ones I have in the fridge.  Eggplant are damaged by debris and or sunscorched.  I’ll can the carrots, though I bet they were going to be delicious.  It’s a sad day.
